How Seasonal Pruning Impacts Tree Health

For some species, annual tree pruning is crucial for growth control. Evergreen varieties, like the spruce on this particular client’s property, typically need pruning every two to three years. The property owner reached out to the arborists at T&T Tree Service to address overgrown, unhealthy branches.

Strategic deadwood removal is one of the most effective ways to keep a tree healthy long-term. Letting the branches remain in place could encourage further decay, impacting not only the tree’s appearance but its structural integrity, too.

Minimizing Safety Hazards With Proper Pruning Techniques

The biggest challenge with this project stemmed from the tree’s location. The crew had to be mindful of the busy roadway and avoid the risk of debris ending up on the street, as this could have disrupted the flow of traffic or led to an accident. They put up safety barriers for the duration of the five-hour project.

Experts ultimately decided to access compromised branches with climbing gear. Once an arborist reached a dead or dangerous limb, they carefully removed it without wounding the trunk or surrounding branch structures. Proper pruning techniques make a huge difference in projects like this, which is why it’s always smart to hire professionals like T&T Tree Service.
